CRICKET SOUTH AFRICA (CSA) has noted the various comments on
Social Media and Regular Media platforms around the televised broadcast
of the 2013 ICC Champions
Trophy.
We would like to clarify that CSA has no say concerning the television rights for ICC events which is a matter of direct negotiation between the various broadcasters and the IDI, the commercial wing of the ICC.
As things stand, SuperSport has acquired the rights to the tournament for sub-Saharan Africa (including South Africa) from the ICC.
Any free-to-air broadcaster can thus negotiate with SuperSport International for the free-to-air rights.
