Sri Lanka has an overwhelming record of
winning 10 of their last 11 ODI matches and six in a row against the
Kiwis but black hats to support themselves to reverse the trend
especially when their batsmen in Superb Touch.
Opener Martin Guptill smashed two
consecutive hundreds against England and Ross Taylor half a
century in
all three matches of the series.
Skipper Brendon McCullum on his day can
carry any attack, so many fates Kiwis’ would have depended on their
upper order performs.
Kiwi is also perhaps the best
acclimatized side after the hosts England, spending some good amount of
time here. They know the conditions well, which will help them sort out
their team combination quickly.
However, while against England, they are
faced with double pace attack in Sri Lanka, they face the side which is
full of clever spinners, led by Sachitra Senanayake. Jeevan Mendis,
Rangana Herath Spinner other specialist Tillakaratne Dilshan and may
also be useful.
It is a spin attack will be key to the
performance of Sri Lanka even Lasith Malinga and Nuwan Kulasekara can do
 the job in useful.
Even Kiwi coach Mike Hesson acknowledged
this fact. “We can probably be facing 30-35 overs of spin. We need to
be proactive against», Hesson said ahead of the collision.
Great concern for Sri Lanka is their
batting. Neither the top of the order, middle order batsmen are in good
form. Mahela Jaywardene and Kumar Sangakkara never looked in good touch
during the last IPL.
Skipper Angelo Mathews also had to sit down and give up the captaincy and his IPL side because of poor form.
This means that the Kiwi attack to be
led by young Paceman Mitchell McClenaghan, will bowl on a bunch of
batsmen who have little confidence.
Tim Southee, Kyle Mills, Dough Bracewell form the pace department while Nathan McCullum will look after
