Stuart Broad and Steven Finn both took part at the start of England's practice session at Trent Bridge.
The two frontline pace bowlers have missed England's back-to-back NatWest Series defeats against New
Zealand - Broad with a bruised knee and Finn with a sore shin.
Both were thought to be doubts too for the final match of three, as well as England's Champions Trophy opener against Australia at Edgbaston on Saturday but they were fit enough on Tuesday to take a full part in England's early fielding drills.
